Τι περιμένετε λοιπόν;
Dry Shampoo … is really a girl’s best friend. Balancing a full time job, a household and a family with 2 kids, things most of the times get tough and I don’t have enough time for pampering myself and styling my hair. I try to wash my hair 2-3x a week so there are times that I literally live and breathe it. If you’re shaking your head and judging me right now, that’s just because you haven’t had your life changed by this miraculous hair wonder. Dry shampoo is a magical invention that absorbs excess oils produced by the scalp, leaves hair feeling clean and refreshed while infuses body, lift and texture and eliminates the need to wash and style hair every single day (seriously, do you have time for that?). It can make two-day-old hair look better than freshly washed, or hide the fact that you came home late and didn’t have time to wash your hair.
Dry shampoo can be a major live saver, but only if you use it right. Here are some helpful tips and some of my favorite dry shampoos:
1| If you are brunette and you are using one with white powder, try applying it before you go to bed at night. The oil will be absorbed over night and the white residue will be gone. When buying a dry shampoo, be sure to check what hair color the product is meant for, there are plenty of shades to choose from.
2| Beware, dry shampoo doesn’t only remove the greasiness in your hair, it also most often give you lots of volume. Don’t over do it, it will also leave your hair dirty feeling, so take it easy when applying.
3| Use dry shampoo only on the spots that are greasy. Separate your hair into 5 cm. sections and spray at the root of each section. If you don’t section off your hair, product can get concentrated in one area. Also be careful with the distance and avoid holding it too close or too far away. It is recommended to hold the spray 15 cm. away from the root of each section. Start at your ear and spray from underneath your hair. If you don’t start at the base of your hair, you won’t take advantage of the volumizing benefits of dry shampoo, and your hair can fall flat as the day wears on. The bottle usually has a text that informs you about how to apply it – read! The best dry shampoo application will give you better hair than you ever thought possible.
4| Give the dry shampoo some time to do its magic before you start styling your hair. Don’t forget to brush your hair after applying to make sure its evenly distributed. Let the product sit for a couple of minutes before you touch your hair. If you’re pressed for time, use heat from a blow dryer to speed up the process.
5| Blend and style your hair, using your clean fingers gently rub the dry shampoo into your scalp, so excess product is absorbed and activated. Then run a brush through your hair to comb out any tangles and distribute the product evenly. You have to really work it into your hair to get it absorbed & working!
Last but not least, dry shampoo isn’t for every single day. Using too much product will damage your hair as it could block the hair follicle in the long run. It’s more than enough to use it once or maximum twice between each hair wash.
