(English version below)

This is a post that was meant to be published a long time ago but somehow never went live. Ever since I lay my hands on a hot glue gun I’m obsessed with it! It took me a while to appreciate its value but now I know how valuable it is!

I was looking for some summer home decor inspiration on Pinterest and I spotted some beautiful rope cylinder candle holders and thought it would be a nice addition to our home. The problem was that I hadn’t had any cylinder candle holders but I had a bunch of large empty jars that could serve as candle holders so I give it a try. As you can see the project turned out pretty awesome and it cost me almost nothing as I already had all the materials. They are perfect for a table centerpiece as they can hold candles or flowers (great centerpiece for your party!).

It’s a pretty easy project, it took me only 5 minutes from start to finish. Here’s how you can make your own:

MATERIALS

Large glass jars (I used some honey jars)

Organic looking string

Hot glue gun

Decor elements (optional)

DIRECTIONS

1. Using hot glue, adhere the string to the front of the jar. You can start from the bottom front or the middle like I did.

2. Wrap the string around the jar, gluing as you go.

3. When you reach the desired height, cut and glue the string to the jar to finish.

4. You can hot glue a decor element (like a starfish or a shell) to the front of the jar or you can leave it plain like I did (that way you have unlimited decor options).

5. Add a candle and that’s it! So easy and so charming!!!
